Vacation Day Two....
We got up and left our hotel and began the rest of our trip to Florida. The kids and I played games and they were well entertained thanks to the box of games/coloring stuff, etc... that I packed for them. We finally make it down to Miami and let me tell you, no one can drive down there! It was very difficult to find our hotel with all the odd roads and turns off these roads. We finally made it and we were the minority to say the least! No one spoke English and we later found out we were in Little Havanna. Scarry! I was terrified to go outside by myself to the car. We ended up parking it where a camera was facing it the entire week. We were advised to walk or get a taxi to go anywhere so we ended up walking to the restraunt next door to the hotel. Clue #1 that this was not going to be good should have been the lack of a children's menu. Clue #2, the waiter who nodded at you when you talked and called everyone sir. So we order and of course our drinks, meals were not right but complaining would have not done any good. So oh well.....they completely forgot to get Caleb any food. Poor guy! I went to get the manager and was able to get that fixed rather quickly. We eat and the kids and I went outside to wait on Nathan to pay. They were getting really tired of sitting still. He comes outside and our not good at all meal...which was literally frozen foods prepared and placed on a plate, cost nearly $80!!!! For four of us to eat dinner!!! Yikes! They included a madatory tip in the price. Nice of them, right?! I guess with the horrible service no one would be making much so they took care of that for us. Anyway....it was not a good night at all but thankfully everyone was wiped out after dinner. We went back to the hotel and played some games and we managed to fall asleep fast. Oh, before that, we were watching something on Food Network and Nathan asked the kids who won. They told him and he said something about the chicky on tv he thought she would win. That cracked the kids up and started them rolling laughing so hard about daddy has a girlfriend on TV. They were very tired and giggly but it was fun.
