Doorposts

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, ESV)

If you ever come over to my house, besides the usual clutter that a homeschool house with three young children brings, you'll find walls covered in verses, notes, parenting ideas etc.... My friends have commented that they love to come over just to see what I may have up right now. Although not my own ideas, having the constant visual reminders are so helpful to me as a busy mom. Sometimes I forget or am too busy or too tired to properly hand out the appropriate punishment. But when I look up and see the neon colored signs all over my walls, I am reminded of just why I have them there and it encourages me to stick with it. Where did I get my ideas or material? There is a wonderful company called Doorposts. They publish parenting materials for all ages. Everything is from a Biblical persepctive. I highly recommend every product they have and wish that I could own them all! I am posting becuase this week they launched a new blog with awesome character building ideas. I know how much my family has been blessed through their materials and I know that your family could be blessed as well. So please check them out and this week they are celebrating the launch of their new blog by having awesome give aways! Who doesn't love a freebie!
