So it's 12:30 in the morning, the start of a new school year begins in just a few short hours. Rylee and Kaden are excited, Caleb secretly is just a little bit but he doesn't want me to know. I can still remember the feeling of nervous excitement knowing school started the next day. I often ask myself if my kids are missing out on that feeling because we have chosen to homeschool. I'd be lying if I said there weren't days where I ask myself if I've gone crazy trying to juggle everything on my busy plate. But there is nothing better than knowing that you have taught your kids something. Seeing their eyes light up when they learn something new. Hearing the excitement in their voices when they get a concept they've struggled with. That to me is one of the best feelings in the world! I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to teach my children. Sure, it might be easier to send them off to school and there is nothing wrong with that! But I am so thankful for every minute I get to be with them. Even the ones where I'm frazzled and falling apart. So now it's off to bed, today will be a busy day!

Homeschooling has its ups and downs, but there's nothing like teaching your child how to read or how to work a math problem. This will be our 13th year of homeschooling. This year, my youngest (13) will be going to a private school. She has learning difficulties and God led us to this school. In fact, He opened the door so much, that her teacher homeschooled her two dyslexic children and knows exactly how to help our daughter. I'm so excited about this. I will still be homeschooling our middle daughter who is 14 and looking forward to school starting in a couple of weeks.
