I woke up this morning determined that I would get my car fixed today. I have been "trapped" in my house long enough with my only way out being bumming a ride off my mom or hubby for months now and I am tired of it! I want to go to the library, the scrapbook store, the grocery store, anywhere!!! without it meaning dragging the entire family to rush through the store, shop, whatever it may be. So I woke up today determined to take matters into my own hand and get it fixed. So a friend of mine came over and pumped up my tires which were flat from the cold and the car sitting idle for so long. Then I bundle the kids up and grab blankets and we're ready to start this adventure. First stop, get air in the tires at the gas station. They needed a bit more then what was added before. The kids are all very excited by this point to not be "stuck being bored at home" (their words). We take off on our trip and get 1/2 mile down the road when I decide this isn't such a good idea and head back home praying and hoping that we'll make it back home safely and not have to walk in the freezing rain. Thankfully we made it back with no issues and the car is now moved but parked again. So much for being productive. Sigh sigh.....
But my mother in law offered to come over on Saturday and keep the kids for me so I could go do whatever I want. She even offered her car! Whoo Hoo!!! I'm so looking foward to getting out of the house and doing something, anything besides sit here. It's funny how you don't think of things you want to do or places you want to go until you have no car and then suddenly there are a hundred things you need or want to do or places you want to go. It will be so great to be able to go out again!!! Anyway, lesson learned: to appreciate having a car more when it gets fixed!
