Last night, I was driving alone and I spent the quiet time talking to God and pouring my heart out to Him about the situation. I prayed that we would feel His peace, peace that no one can explian, and that our faith would grow stronger when needed to deal with whatever may lie ahead. I was returning a movie and when I got out of the car, there was a license plate on the car beside me that caught my attention. It said, "When my life got tougher, my faith grew stronger." Wow! Talk about an answer!
I got home and was anxious to read my Bible and see what today's reading had to say. Everytime I'm faced with a question or concern, I find the answer or peace I'm seeking when I read the day's passages. I found a few verses that really stood out to me. One was Isaiah 49:16....in the passage He's talking about how a mother could never stop loving her child and even if that were impossible He could never stop loving us. "See, I have written your name on my hand." How awesome is that! It's easy to lose sight of that when life gets complicated and we get overwhelmed. Sometimes it seems like He's even turned His back on us, but He assures us right there that He can never stop loving us and our names are on His hand. That got me thinking to just how big his hands really are. I know I can't comprehend how big God really is. My mind won't wrap around it. But his hand is big enough to write all of our names. Wow!
As I went to bed last night, I had a sence of peace flowing through me. I could literally feel His arms wrapped around me telling me everything would be alright. I woke up this morning with not a worry in the world!
"I know that no matter what yesterday was, I will rise triumphant today. For I've placed ALL my trust in the power from above, I am at peace, I rest in God, all is well!"
